Spotlight on Tri-Ko: Supporting Individual Growth and Community Connection
Last week, KWIKOM’s marketing and sales teams had the incredible opportunity to visit Tri-Ko in Osawatomie, Kansas. During our visit, we learned about the vital role this organization plays in the community and were honored to provide a $2,000 donation to help further their mission. What stood out most was the care, compassion, and dedication that shines through everything Tri-Ko does for its clients.
Tri-Ko isn’t your average care facility—far from it. From the moment you walk through the doors, it’s clear this is a place where individuals feel valued, supported, and respected. One client shared with us that what she loves most about Tri-Ko is how friendly everyone is: “They treat me like a person and with respect, and they make me laugh.” It’s a sentiment that perfectly reflects the warmth and humanity that defines Tri-Ko’s approach.
Individualized Care and Personal Goals
What sets Tri-Ko apart is their commitment to individualized care. There’s no one-size-fits-all model here. Each client works toward goals that are practical, achievable, and meaningful to them. Whether it’s learning to drive, getting a job, or mastering everyday tasks like doing laundry, Tri-Ko provides the support and guidance needed to help clients build confidence and independence.
Tri-Ko’s services are designed to empower individuals at every stage. They offer day services, residential support, and targeted programs to address each client’s unique needs. By creating opportunities for personal growth, Tri-Ko helps clients lead fulfilling lives while building essential life skills for everyday independence.
It’s this focus on personal growth that makes Tri-Ko so special. The staff work tirelessly to ensure each individual’s needs are met, fostering an environment where clients not only feel comfortable but also safe and encouraged to thrive. Walking through their facilities, you can sense the trust and connection between staff and clients. It’s not just a place to receive services—it’s a community.
Building Community Through Activities
Beyond day-to-day care, Tri-Ko brings joy and connection to its clients through a variety of activities and events. From Christmas parties and bowling nights to pool days and Special Olympics competitions, there’s always something to look forward to. Their dedicated activities department plays a key role in helping clients discover hobbies, build friendships, and even train for competitive events.
The impact of these activities goes far beyond fun. They help clients feel included, celebrated, and capable of achieving great things—whether it’s scoring a strike at the bowling alley or earning a medal at a Special Olympics event.
